Meeting your chauffeur at Marseille Saint-Charles
Saint-Charles looks down over the centre of Marseille. Its monumental staircase, inaugurated in 1927, is the station’s signature; with suitcases in hand, it is one to admire rather than walk down. The station is large: the Halle Honnorat, inaugurated in 2007, extends the original buildings, so the meeting point needs to be precise.
That point is agreed beforehand, based on your train and your luggage, and set out in the confirmation voucher you receive before departure: the exit from your platform, the concourse, or one of the two drop-off areas, Narvik (entered from Boulevard Voltaire) or Bourdet (entered from Boulevard Maurice-Bourdet). Aix-en-Provence TGV, the other high-speed station
Aix-en-Provence TGV stands on the Arbois plateau, about 15 km south-west of central Aix and about 20 km north of Marseille. In service since 2001 on the LGV Méditerranée high-speed line, it lies away from any town centre, so a car booked in advance makes arriving simpler. It is not the same as Aix-en-Provence station in the town itself, which is served only by regional TER trains: check the name on your ticket.
For a chauffeur at Aix-en-Provence TGV station, the details we need are the same as for Saint-Charles. From here you reach Aix, the country houses around it or the southern Luberon without crossing Marseille. Once in Aix, a private chauffeur in Aix-en-Provence can stay with you for the day.
Which station suits your destination
Choose the station when you book your ticket, based on the address where you are staying.
- Marseille Saint-Charles: central Marseille, the Old Port, the Corniche and Cassis.
- Aix-en-Provence TGV: Aix, its countryside and the southern Luberon, without crossing Marseille.
- Avignon TGV, on the same high-speed line: often closer for the Alpilles and the northern Luberon.

Catching the train home
For a departure, we agree the pick-up time with you by working back from the train, leaving a margin for traffic, luggage and the walk to the platform. The outward and return journeys can go in the same request, with the pick-up address and the train number.
At Saint-Charles, the drop-off areas are meant for brief stops. Your chauffeur sets you down as close to the entrance as possible and, where stopping allows, accompanies you and your luggage to the concourse.
