The Fédération Française de la Grande Remise

FFGR Marseille is a website of the Fédération Française de la Grande Remise, a non-profit association under French law, based in Paris. The Federation brings together chauffeurs and chauffeur-hire operators as its members: it receives your request, sends you a personal quote and entrusts each journey to one of them.

Who we are

The Fédération Française de la Grande Remise (FFGR) is an association governed by the French law of 1 July 1901. Its members are chauffeurs and chauffeur-hire operators, and it arranges chauffeur-driven travel for its clients through the websites of its network.

FFGR Marseille is its website for Marseille and Provence: transfers, chauffeurs by the hour or day, business and events, from the Corniche to the villages of the Luberon.

The Federation does not operate vehicles itself. It receives requests for chauffeur-driven travel and entrusts them to its members, who carry them out with their vehicles.

Where the name grande remise comes from

In France, grande remise was the name the law gave to high-end chauffeur-driven travel. A decree of 15 July 1955 defined voitures de grande remise as luxury touring cars driven by their owner or the owner’s employee “on terms agreed in advance between the parties”.

The 2009 reform brought that regime to an end: the Act of 22 July 2009 replaced it with the status of voitures de tourisme avec chauffeur, which the Act of 1 October 2014 renamed voitures de transport avec chauffeur: the VTC of today. The Federation keeps the old name, and the idea behind it: a high-end vehicle, a chauffeur, and terms agreed before you set off.

How we work

  1. Your request By WhatsApp, phone or e-mail: dates, times, addresses, number of passengers and bags.
  2. A personal quote It describes the service and comes with our terms and conditions.
  3. Your acceptance and payment The booking becomes firm once your payment is received; no vehicle is held before then.
  4. The booking entrusted to a member A chauffeur who is a member of the Federation carries out the service, with the vehicle stated in your quote.
  5. The confirmation voucher It reaches you before departure, with the pick-up place and time.

One point of contact from start to finish

From your request to the confirmation voucher, you deal with the Federation, even when your stay combines several journeys, several vehicles, a flight or a day at sea. You do not have to coordinate chauffeurs and operators yourself.

Jet, helicopter, yacht: the operator chosen

On request, the Federation also arranges flights by jet or helicopter, and days out on a yacht. These services are carried out by the operator chosen, under its own responsibility; the Federation acts as an intermediary and answers for the care taken in selecting and vetting that operator. Opening such a file involves a study fee, paid before any work begins, under our terms and conditions; the amount is shown on the file-opening quote. See yacht, helicopter and jet.

Legal notice and terms and conditions

The Federation’s full details, the website host, how your personal data is handled and the consumer mediator are set out in our legal notice.

Our terms and conditions come with every quote and, together with it, form the agreement between you and the Federation. You can also receive them before you even ask for a quote: write to us.

Our commitments

In writing, so you can check them

We prefer not to promise anything that is not in writing. Our commitments are set out in our terms and conditions, which come with every quote.

Discretion

Our terms and conditions include a duty of discretion covering your identity, your travel, the people with you and any information we learn in the course of a service. It continues after the relationship ends, with no time limit.

Terms and conditions, article 14

A clear quote

Every service is set out in a written personal quote describing what is provided, down to the vehicle assigned. Anything not in the quote is the subject of an additional quote, and any incidental costs, such as parking or tolls, follow what the quote and our terms and conditions provide. You know what you are accepting before you pay.

Terms and conditions, articles 4 and 5

Terms that work both ways

Our terms and conditions bind the Federation too. If it cancels a service for reasons of its own, other than force majeure or safety, it refunds everything paid and pays compensation of an equal amount.
